Patient satisfaction motivates me: Nothing is better than a patient who leaves happy and confident about their smile, and pleased with the care we have provided.
As a dentist, I promise to treat each patient like they are family. I take time to learn who they are and what they want from treatment, and actively listen to their stories in order to better meet their unique needs.
My goal has always been to understand people better. I have spent a significant part of my life listening to people from all over the world, of all ages and from all walks of life. Each person is different in significant ways, and I seek to use my experiences to understand my patients better and learn from them.
Dentistry is a natural outgrowth of the desires to listen, to learn, to serve. I have always had a strong drive to help others, both when I was a teacher and now as a healthcare provider. I enjoy helping, feel compassion for others, and find great satisfaction in providing a service that has an impact on people’s quality of life.
Education and Professional Memberships
I attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, where I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. The program was rigorous and challenging, giving me a strong foundational knowledge of the science and art of modern dentistry.
Being a dentist requires a commitment to lifelong learning. I actively seek out a wide range of continuing education in order to stay up to date with the latest materials, techniques, and information. By studying general dentistry, along with many specialized processes, I ensure I am providing the ideal treatments and guidance to patients.
I am an active member of the American Dental Association, Nebraska Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and Metro Denver Dental Society. These organizations offer many educational opportunities, from meetings and lectures to online courses and publications; I take advantage of every opportunity to learn!
Outside the Office
I grew up here in Scottsbluff and am glad to be serving the community that made me who I am. Even more, I am happy to be raising a family here.
I met my beautiful wife, Juyoung, when I lived in South Korea. I was in the country through most of my 20s and we were married toward the end of my stay. Juyoung is an avid reader and loves to travel. We have a very energetic young daughter, Lily. Lily likes anything that requires moving around!
I spend most of my free time with my family. My parents are here in town, as are some long-time friends, and we make the most of being together.
My hobbies mainly involve the outdoors: running, biking, swimming, as well as hiking, camping, and gardening. Since I spent a lot of my life overseas, I get itchy feet and love to travel, too.
We moved back to Scottsbluff this year, so I’m still settling in and looking forward to getting involved in the community. Initially, I hope to volunteer with and support the YMCA, the Zoo, and our local schools.
